Aryna Sabalenka is one of the leading tennis players from Belarus and is next in line after Victoria Azarenka to be the flagbearer for Belarusian tennis. Aryna Sabalenka was born on 5 May 1998 in Minsk, Belarus to her father Sergey, and mother Yulia Sabalenka. Sergey was the one who introduced Aryna to tennis and Aryna liked it, she continued playing and eventually pursued it professionally. Sergey was a former hockey player and unfortunately passed away in 2019 due to health complications at the age of 43.
