Riot has released the newest League of Legends season cinematic for season 2024, Still Here. Here’s a quick breakdown of it.
Ever since season 2018, with the release of The Climb cinematic, Riot has been releasing a League of Legends cinematic for every season to hype up the year. They released Awaken cinematic in 2019, followed by Warriors in 2020. After that, they released the Ruination cinematic in 2021, which was more of a teaser for the Sentinels of Light event. Then, the final proper cinematic that Riot released was with The Call in 2022.
However, in 2023, they did make a cinematic called The Brink of Infinity. However, it was nothing but a Unreal Engine 5 showcase of the Summoner’s Rift map. Fans were understandably outraged by this. Due to this, it didn’t take long for Riot to apologize for that mess. But then, they confirmed that we were getting a proper cinematic in 2024.
Fast forward to this year, and Riot has revealed a lot of content that is coming out in 2024. That includes item changes, the Summoner’s Rift overhaul, a new champion, more quality-of-life additions, etc.
Alongside these, Riot has also released the Cinematic for season 2024 called Still Here. And here’s everything you need to know about it.

The League of Legends Season 2024 cinematic was made in partnership with Unit Image and Ben Hibon. It also features artists such as Forts, Tiffany Aris, and 2WEI.
Overall look, the cinematic looks beautiful. This might be the best-looking cinematic that we have ever gotten in League of Legends. And the music also has The Call vibes. And as highly regarded as The Call is, Still Here might also become a fan favorite.
This cinematic features 7 different champions from the game. They are Tryndamere, Kindred, Kayle, Morgana, Aatrox, Yasuo, and Ashe.
As for the plot, it follows the story of three different periods: the present, the past, and the possible future.
At the start, we hear the iconic voice line from Kindred, “Tomorrow is a hope, never a promise.” And with that, we start the actual cinematic.
In the first shot, we see the present Tryndamere on death’s bed. He is almost getting killed by his enemies.
Then, we see a silhouette of an archer user. Presumably, Kindred or Ashe. Since Tryndamere is on his deathbed, and Kindred is a grim reaper of the Runeterra universe, it makes sense that Kindred would appear then. It will also make sense once we talk about the other periods as well.
In the next scene, we move to the past, where Demacia is just getting built. There, we see Kayle and Morgana in their knight outfit.
Then, we see an epic fight between Aatrox and the sisters.
With both of their power, the sisters managed to defeat Aatrox. Just before Aatrox died, he saw a silhouette similar to Tryndamere.
Next, we go to the possible future era. There, we see the old man, Yasuo. Even though he is old, he is still a capable fighter.
Though how capable he may be, myriads of arrows befell upon him. Among them was a white arrow, which signified Kindred’s arrow.
After all that, we finally return to the present, where Tryndamere finally meets Kindred. But he won’t accept death so easily. He starts a battle against Kindred.
While everything is going bad for Tryndamere, his wife, Ashe, comes and rescues him. By killing his enemies from the earlier cinematic, she also eliminated Trynamere’s impending doom. Thus, she also got rid of Kindred as well. And with that, the cinematic ends.
Briefly speaking, this cinematic was just the plot from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Everything from this cinematic was great. And just like that, we can expect the future cinematics to be even better.
