Since we have spent a lot of time with Milio, let’s take a look at the upcoming “Ink Mage” champion coming to League of Legends.
League of Legends is a live service game. So Riot has to release content regularly to keep the players enticed. And one type of content that makes the game unique is the champions.
Every season, we get multiple champion releases in League of Legends. Last year, we received champions like Zeri, Reneta Glasc, Bel’Veth, Nilah, and K’Sante. These champions were unique and served a purpose in the overall meta.
Earlier this year, Riot revealed that they planned to release four champions.
The first champion released this year was Milio. Milio is a male enchanter hailing from Ixtal. He uses his fire abilities to heal and buff his allies while CC’ing his opponents. Moreover, he was also released with in-depth lore.
Next in line is Naafiri, a Darkin Assassin. It is also confirmed that Naafiri will be a dog, or at least of canine origins. While Naafiri hasn’t been revealed yet, we can expect her to release relatively soon.
After Naafiri, we have Briar. She will be a hangry jungler. Although she is confirmed to be a bruiser, Riot still hasn’t revealed any noticeable information about her.
And the last champion we will receive this year will be an Ink Mage. Here is all the publicly released information about him.

Riot first revealed this champion back in the season 2023 dev log. Riot called the upcoming champion an “artistic mid-laner” in that video. Besides that, they only showed off a teaser, highlighting that this champion will have an Ionian descent.
Recently, Riot released another dev log for the upcoming champions. And in that post, they were very vague when talking about the artistic mid-laner. But they did reveal his personality, more or less. In that post, Riot mentioned that his art is “so vibrant and alive”; meanwhile, the artist was “broody and somber.”
The release date for the “Ink Mage” has not yet been revealed. But it is confirmed that he would be released after Briar.
